Welcome to the 2023 Bronfman Fellowship Application!
The Bronfman Fellowship is a free, once-in-a-lifetime experience for Jewish teens who love to learn and want to see the world through a lens broader than their own. For more information about the Fellowship experience, visit www.bronfman.org.
Eligibility
High school students in the 11th grade, who self-identify as Jewish, and who are from the United States or Canada are eligible for the Fellowship. (If you are too young to apply this year, fill out our interest form.)
The Application
The application consists of various short responses, short essays, and a 1-minute video. We ask for two letters of recommendation, at least one from a teacher, as well as your school transcript*. We do not require any sort of standardized test scores.

*We request academic transcripts to learn about an applicant's academic pursuits and course load. However, we do not believe that grades and GPA reflect a candidate's sophistication of thought, character, or the ability to contribute to and benefit from the Fellowship. Far more important (and interesting) are the personal essay sections and letters of recommendation, which offer a platform for applicants to tell their stories, express their unique interests, and describe their relationship to the community. We further understand that, due to educational disruptions caused by COVID-19, grades for the last academic year may have been adversely affected. This will not affect your candidacy for the Fellowship.
Important Dates
The main part of the application is due by December 5, 2022. Final deadline for receipt of letters of recommendation and transcript is December 7, 2022. Remember it's important to request letters of recommendation and transcript far in advance of the deadline. You will be notified in mid-January if you have been selected for an interview, and remote interviews will be held in January and February. The recipients of the Fellowship will be announced in March 2023.
Summer Seminar: July 3 - August 4, 2023
Winter Seminar: December 12-14, 2023
Spring Seminar: March 29-April 2, 2024
These dates are subject to change.
